Once a promising and ambitious officer within the Imperial Commandos, Madine would become disillusioned with the Empire's callous disregard for the lives of its soldiers.

Deserting from the Imperial fold, Crix would join the Alliance shortly before the destruction of Alderaan by the first Death Star.

In the wake of the Republic's victory at Yavin, Madine would be rapidly elevated to the rank of General with a posting as the commander of the Alliance Special Forces Command, where he would remain until the end of the war.

Instrumental in planning of many of the Rebellion's most decisive victories, Madine would go on to maintain his position within the formalized military of the New Republic.
